Royal Challengers won the toss and invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first. RR lost wickets in regular intervals and bundled out to only 92 (lowest score so far in IPL3). The main highlight of the match was the Hat-trick by Pravin Kumar, getting 3 wickets in 3 different type of deliveries (the first hat-trick in IPL3). Chasing 93 to win, Royal Challengers finished it off in a hurry (10.4 overs). Kallis and Manish remain not out giving a comfortable 10 wkts win to Royal Challengers, Bangalore.

  • 6 Praveen Kumar became sixth bowler to claim a hat-trick in IPL when he dismissed Damien Martyn, Sumit Narwal and Paras Dogra off second, third and fourth legitimate balls of his third over. This was the first hat-trick for Royal Challengers Bangalore and also the first in this edition of IPL. This is the seventh occasion a hat-trick has been taken in IPL history, with Yuvraj claiming one twice.
  • 7 Number of times Yusuf Pathan has been run-out in the IPL – the highest number of such dismissals for any batsman in the tournament.
  • 10 Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory is the third 10-wicket win in the IPL. Deccan Chargers had beaten Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets in the first edition and the Delhi Daredevils had beaten Kings XI Punjab in second edition by the same margin.
  • 56 Royal Challengers won the match with 56 balls to spare – the second biggest win in IPL history. Mumbai Indians had beaten Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede in 2008 with 87 balls to spare.
  • 67 Number of balls of dot balls in the Rajasthan Royals’ innings – the maximum in a team innings during IPL 2010. There were 61 dot balls in Kolkata’s innings against Chennai Super Kings at Kolkata on March 16.
  • 92 Rajasthan Royals’ total is the lowest in this edition of IPL.
  • 198 Runs scored by Jacques Kallis in the tournament without being dismissed even once.
